About This Spot

Stepping into Bonafini Italian Restaurant feels like being welcomed into a cherished neighborhood treasure in the heart of Brooklyn. The space strikes a rare balance—it’s cozy without feeling cramped, inviting without being formal. Warm wood tones and thoughtful lighting create a gentle glow where conversations unfold at a comfortable, unhurried pace. Here, moments are savored, whether you’re settling in for a leisurely brunch or gathering for dinner and the theater of Italian flavors.

Bonafini’s atmosphere leans toward the quietly celebratory, with a sense that each visit can be part of a larger story—whether that’s catching up with friends over a carefully crafted Bloody Mary, sharing a comforting plate of pasta that carries both simplicity and soul, or indulging in the careful sweetness of a tiramisu that lingers with you long after the last bite. The attentive yet unobtrusive service echoes the neighborhood’s friendly spirit, making every guest feel like a familiar face.

Meals here are paced to suit the company and the conversation, with a menu that embraces both classic Italian staples and small surprises. From morning through evening, you might find a golden frittata with hints of the garden, a pan-seared catch fresh enough to feel like a secret by the sea, or a luscious gelato that offers a cool counterpoint to a rich espresso. The food tells stories without overwhelming, inviting diners to discover what resonates with their mood that day.

Whether you're drawn by the promise of wood-fired pizza with its bubbling, rustic charm or the promise of a quiet moment over cappuccino and roasted cauliflower with a hint of anchovy, Bonafini’s pace allows you to settle in deeply. It’s a place where time bends a little—where brunch feels unhurried, lunch is a cozy midpoint, and dinner becomes an intimate gathering under soft lights.

In Bonafini’s embrace, the everyday feels quietly special, woven with the warmth of a neighborhood brought together around good food, genuine hospitality, and a setting that welcomes you back before you’ve even left.

We came to support our local friend from the neighborhood, we really enjoyed our lunch. We ordered the Prosciutto Pizza and the bolognese lasagna, they were both delicious! I had a sparkling lemon water which was super refreshing. We also tried the salted caramel and chocolate ice cream. The waiter was super attentive and friendly. The space was well designed, cozy and welcoming.

Great pizzas. Went during the in-between meal so the menu was more limited than I would've liked but that's understandable. They don't start dinner until 5 fyi. Our server was also very kind and friendly. We had some time to chat about our pets, which I always love.

Came for brunch and started out with a red wine and Bloody Mary. My wife said Bloody Mary was done correctly. Also pictured is Italian grilled cheese. Spectacular! Our server was da bomb!!

It’s a very cozy (romantic) setting. The food was amazing and overall I think it was very affordable. Definitely would recommend and would go again!

Came for brunch and it was pretty good. Will definitely come back. The ginger cocktail was really good. Loved the hash browns. The shakshuka was okay - felt like it could have been a bit richer in flavor and thicker in consistency but it was still enjoyable. Best brunch I've had in this neighborhood. The server was incredibly friendly and helpful.
